Manitou 2 Dropout disassembly

Hi all,

Got a set of Manitou 2's i'm rebuilding but struggling with the drop out adjusters.

I've searched high and low for some service manuals; plenty for Manitou 1's and I'm confident I could rebuild a fork lift truck no problem, but cant find any for the 2's.

The dials wont budge at all. Is there a knack for getting them moving/off?

There is what looks to be a rectangular slot underneath where the bolt have been removed. Is there a special tool to be used on these?

Yep, found that, but nothing about the dropouts.

Do you mean the adjusters don’t turn? The dropouts are the bits the wheel attaches to

Yep, adjusters wont budge.

Did the elastomers in them turn to mush? They maybe Jamed up with moulten elastomer..boiling water helps.
