Klein, whats the big deal?

Having never ridden one , this is a genuine question and not a dig at the prices...

But how do they demand such high amounts of money? to me they look like those bikes you used to be able to get from asda.... just with a funky paintjob,... the geometry looks a bit weird too... like its built as a semi unisex frame.... More of a one-for-all than purposefull...

:?: :?:

nothing wrong with another discussion!

i think its one of the only aluminium bikes i would own. they look beautiful but i dont think i could justify the price

...and please spare us the next klein discussion.

all i will say on the matter is this, (Like I said before)

I have the best tech bike money can buy today called a cannondale flash 2010, 16.7 lbs of pure race machine. and i also have me kleins. 96/97 and 92/93.

we have a 15 year gap in technology there and i would say that when i go out on the klein it handles as well as the flash because it is balanced but the ride is hard. Kleins were made for racing a to b as fast as possible and i know this because when i was racing my specialized M2 at the malverns in 93/94 i test rode a klein and it outstripped my M2 in everyway. looks speed uphill downhill. kleins were stiff period because thats what we wanted at that time stiff. now we want flex stiff fast which is where the flash comes in but remember its carbon. imagine if gary had a play with carbon today. WOW, and that is also what a klein has wow factor.

lets not talk about over priced, XTR is over priced Ringle was over priced, in fact anything put on a cad design in the bike world was over priced. Klein is about everything looking as one and clean. you could put klein paintwork on a $49 aluminium frame but people would know its not a klein, because it was more than just a paint job. it was like cameron diaz walking into a working mans club. work the rest out for yourselves. PERIOD

thanks andy

good use of inovations and desined beutifully, paint, smooth lines, all in 1 bar /stem,not overly chunky.not the most tech of bikes but neither is a dave lloyd or chas roberts and theyre just as pretty.

sexy form and functionjavascript :D

i love my klein even though it is a "trek version"
it was still made in chealis in 2001
i always wanted one
then thanks to ebay i got one
rode it once and fell in love it just wants to go fast
i had a 2009 cube ltd and a gt zaskar
sold them both now due to the klein
there was no point of keeping them after the klein
only bike that felt as good was my cannondale
which my evil ex sold when i left the bitch for 100 quid!
wasnt anyone on here was it?!

i love my trek klein Pulse Comp, love its climbing abilities, and would love a 1991 Team klein.

There is no 'Big deal' is there??? :?

As with anything, they are a brand with a following, and those followers are passionate. Claims of over inflated prices are unfounded in my opinion

I bought my fully built 98 Klein attitude for £250 last year, hardly a bank breaker

I love the way mine rides, but I wouldn't say it's head and shoulders above my 92 AlMega XT
