Dunno yet Matt, didn't risk a test ride without that saddle secure, lol! And do just need to double check all the bolts are tight, it was getting cold out so I gave up and came back in! :D

Oh yeah just spotted the seat clamp!!!

£5.99 on ebay, free post, should be ere by Weds, lol! Will ride it Thurs on my day off, if it don't p*ss down all day....

Finally, two weeks later, it gets a shake down ride....

Only minor niggles - rattly pedals, and a shifter indicator window that doesn't work (perhaps explained by the tiny piece of plastic that fell out whilst trying to get a cable into the damn thing. It's in a 'safe' place...somewhere...) Apart from that, there's my frightening lack of fitness, and a camera battery that won't hold a charge for more than 5 minutes, but I'm very happy with what is effectively just my 'hack' bike!!

Now, really must start selling some stuff to fund the light weight 'dale build....

Really like that.

Pretty lardy but who cares!

Only thing weird is really why would you go through the cost of an argos respray on such a low end model? Not that it isnt worth it if a lifetime keeper, but it cant be if its made its way to you!

Happy trails.

Thank you!

I thought that about the respray, but it was obviously done a while ago as it's chipped and scraped now, plus I had a Trek 820 frame resprayed by Argos once so I can't say anything at all can I....I part ex'd it for peanuts against something else, can't remember what!

I love this bike so much that I still sometimes just go out in to the car port to look at it. Yesterday I took my pretty accurate bathroom scales out there and weighed myself and then myself with the bike - a tad under 26lbs all in, and I double checked that as I was surprised, in a good way.

It has got really lightweight wheels and tyres on it, so revolving weights are low, XT BB, Race Face cranks aren't too lardy either, so I suppose that's about right. Forks could be lighter, reckon with proper P2's and some better pedals we're looking at 25lbs.

But you know what, who cares, it rides lovely and it's got all the bits on it I have always wanted, even if it is a real mish mash!

Re:

UPDATE!! :P

A member who hasn't been on here for a while messaged me yesterday after seeing that I had his old Hahanna....turns out he rescued it after it had been outside for months, and got it resprayed at Argos. The seat post and BB were seized, which could explain why a 27.0 post slips all the time, Argos may have reamed it a little to clean the seat tube up...

We're also wondering if the BB shell was sleeved, could this explain a bit of additional weight? As it turns out it's not a Hahanna at all, but a Lava Dome...result!! :D

Thanks to Stick Legs for taking the time to make contact, I look forward to some pics of his build of it once he's had chance to dig them out....

Re:

That would make sense if reamed. Then again, I've lost count on the number of bikes I've bought the stock Seatpost for only to find its too big or small.

Glad you still like.it

Love the baby blue, looks a good build

Thanks! :D

Might be getting front sus soon, or possibly going the other way and becoming my tourer with slicks. And slightly less...ummm...colourful stuff on it....

The colour makes it for me, one of my all time favourites.
