Yep that sounds about right regarding work as it's either a case of not getting enough of it or having a mare trying to get five minutes away from it :shock: ..

So what bit's are you after for your single speed conversion as i may have a few spacers for the cassette so if your interested ? ..

Thanks Ian, think Antstark has sorted me out on that front, I probably have everything I actually NEED, it's just I'll be looking for lighter bits, like seat post, etc, but then again a lot of what's on there can stay for now... :facepalm:

In my head, it's a sub 20lb carbon equipped racing ferret....in reality with a frame weight of 5 1/2 lb, there's not a lot more I can do to help him

Unfortunately i can't help with the lighter bits and although 5 1/2lb may not seem the lightest frame weight at least you know it's strength won't let you down but other than the frame weight the other main place to cut down on the weight is wheels although that would prove a bit costly on the old purse strings i suppose but at least your pride and joy is a fair bit lighter than mine as mine has got a heavy weight suspension fork on which came as standard :| .

Guess who's back....and weight down to roughly 24lbs....and pictured here in the shade....so you could call him 'Slim Shady'

Still need to pump up tyres a bit and adjust spacers on front brake so they don't stick out like Spock's ears, but a complete revamp has got him pretty light and ready for a ride tomorrow. Plus my £8 XT rear mech off ebay means I've now got all 8 gears, and that Hope seat clamp has got to make him fast.... Proper P2's now as well. May swap out front wheel at some point for one that matches the rear.

Quick blast up and down the private road, well several actually, while laughing raucously which may have something to do with the 2 pints of cider and all the sun, proves he's working beautifully and is like a racing ferret :mrgreen:

Yeah, decided some gears may be useful and a bike with a mech hanger just doesn't look right SS'ed... :facepalm:
