Does anyone in the Lancs area work at a chemical plant ? And if so are there any vacancies ??

I've been out of work for quite a while now , and to be honest it's getting a little unfunny :cry: .

I have some good qualifications and worked for Akzo Nobel Industrial Coatings for almost twenty years . I am also a qualified FLT instructor / examiner .

Again sorry if this offends , I know this is not a forum for jobs or the unemployed , and if it does offend or cause trouble I promise I will gerrot myself with a frayed gear cable .

Personally I'm not offended either, when life's a bit poo, and desperation sets in, you've got to get yourself out there so I appreciate where you're coming from....

i know they have layed off a couple of numpties at my place for a couple of reasons, got to be worth chucking a CV in. it's in fawley (southampton) which i realise is miles away but one guy i work with comes from exeter, our shift roter is 2 days then 2 nights then 4 off and he has "digs" down here although he is on the day shift rota though meaning 4 on 4 off, only about 5 guys do that. oh and every 7 sets of 4 on 4 off you get 18 days off. 12 hour shifts though.

also, next to us is ESSO, they start people on £47,000 :shock: if you are lucky enough to get in but there is 6 months of theoretical school work before you start :shock:
