Interloc Center Pull Progressive (like u-brake only better)

I have a question, but first an explanation:

Interloc (IRD) Center Pull Progressive

Center Pull Rim Brakes (1984)

Center Pull Progressive: first u-brake available. First product based on aluminum shape
extrusions Superior to Shimano U-brake as it had more range of pad adjustment, Mechanical advantage and a more user friendly quick release.

So, now to my problem:

I was lucky enough to land one of these original U-brakes for my 86 mountain goadt wtr build. I'm trying to make the build SansShimano, no shimano whatsoever, while still keeping it somewhat period correct with all parts from 1984-1986.

This is proving quite difficult, but I've made a lot of progress, and I'm almost complete. Now I'm stuck:

I need a non-shimano front canti setup to go along with my IRD U-brake out back. I was going to go with Suntour XC Rollercam, but they won't work with my canti mounts (was that obvious?)...so any suggestions????

the u brake mount is spoken for by the IRD...now about those pesky front canti mounts...any suggestions?

From what I've been able to read online, Suntour didn't make mtb cantis for those years, only the rollercams, at least according to firstflight's history page and another site I have to look up the name of later.

Dia compe would work in terms of being the right year, but seems a bit more lowend than I was looking for. There's a set of diacompes on ebay right now, but they just look don't look very good for what I'm going with.

If nothing else comes up, I might have to go with early dia compe.

How about Mafac, am I spelling it right? or would that be too early?

There are some nice Dia Compe touring canti's from the eighties that would work. MAFAC and almost-identical Weinmann copies are out there, and the Modolo canti must be from about the right period:

Somehow none of those seem quite right for your ride though. I remember reading about an early American cyclocross specialist producing a racing cantilever in small numbers, but I can't put my finger on it right now.
