hmmm, so was the moots mounts, an actual cantilever setup, or was it just a base/mount for a canti to be installed?

I'm reading different descriptions. Does anyone have a photo of a set? From what I've found via google, it appears to be a base of some sort...

I'd say they're black M730's.

oh, it can be embarrassing sorting this out in a thread for all to see, but I hope some can learn from it, as I learn myself. Thanks for the clarification jim...I'm a bit disappointed as I was under the impression that it was an actual canti, till I started looking in more places, for images especially.

Yes, thought they might just be m730s.

Oh well, looks like Mafac and Dia Compe are the only realistic alternatives to shimano for a front off road canti for this time period.
The modolo would be cool, but have not found a canti set as of yet.
