Just returned from my first time karting experience....with my eldest daughter (25)
In practice I was fairly rubbish...qualifying I was 2nd every lap but my daughter popped in a faster lap. Mmmm...the race was on.
I was third on the grid, my daughter 2nd...the guy on pole was a seasoned racer...it was between me and my daughter.
Off the flag my kart seemed a bit slow...lost two places but quickly regained them with superior cornering...then it just went pear shaped with my kart progressively losing power...in the end I just stuck the pedal to the floor. No braking. No use. Into the pits, too much time lost.
And now my daughter is claiming some sort of victory.I'm going to be mad for at least a week. . :evil:

I went karting on a mates stag do a few years ago at Daytona Karting at Sandown Park - proper big fat grown up go karts on a 1.2km track.... I turned up with a sneaking suspicion I may well prove to myself and others I was a driving god.........I got lapped 4 laps in......I blame the 5am bedtime and subsequent hangover!!!!!!
