HONC 2017

Re:

Yes a cross bike is fine, a proportion of riders use cx bikes every year and my son used one the last time we rode it.

With my weedy legs I need mtb gearing to get up the hills, hence the retromod.

Re:

didn't realise the email had our race number on it

for saying I registered 24 hours after the on line reg opened I'm # 1120

should have a good crowd this year..

Re:

I'm a little surprised there are still places, the last time I rode it, registration opened at 7.00am and by 3.30pm it was full.

It was a lot of road and what wasn't was mostly plasticine mud last year. May have put off a few of the regulars.

Re:

Was there a 75k route last year too? For those who didn't want to commit to the full 100k ?

yeah last year was the perfect combination of plenty of rain and then a dry spell leading up to the Sunday and the mud being in that horrible plasticine state as it dryed out,

..........drained the life out of my legs akin to riding on sand.

Think about it, there's always two 75k routes.

Re:

Reality has stuck a stick through the spokes of my plans and thus already I am no longer able to do HONC. Due to my soon being a student I work weekends for Mr J Sainsbury's empire. I have only 6 weekends allocated to me for my annual leave for 2017 and so some of my weekend plans have to bite the bullet. HONC gets said bullet right between the eyes

I had better get the weekend of Mayhem or Mr Sainsbury will get the bullet too :P

Re:

That's a fair enough call velo. Look forward to seeing you at mayhem. The malt was lovely by the way. Drive safe xxx
