Retro Newbie
Hey guys,
I'm new!!
I've got a old GT Pro Performer from 99' see pic
It's been sat in my mother in laws garage until recently. I've spent the day today stripping it right down to see what needs to be replaced & what can be cleaned, greased and reused.
It's got an old school traditional 1 piece crank and I'm thinking of going 3 piece with a small chainring as its a freestyle / flatland bike. Any advice on for or against this and things to look out for?
I also need to replace bearings between forks & frame and in both hubs.
Thanks in advance
Jon

Looks like a clean bike that. Not like the rough 99 performer I have in the garage. Apart from getting an American bb 3 piece ( old style one piece crank bottom bracket size). Then everything else should be easy. Don't forget to check the spindles and cones are in good condition and straight on the wheels. Bar that just the usual. Bmx are easy really have fun with it.
