I was thinking this very thing. . .
Probably one for off topic discussion, but isn't it funny. . . 15 years ago, maybe 10, the Big S was a heavily criticised laughing stock. Now with some big names on board, are they cool again in road circles. . or are the pro teams using the round ones. .
. . and whatever happened to chris bell and the egg rings. .

Theres an article on here somewhere about repositioning the bio pace oval for an improved mechanical advantage. The difference between the new stuff and bio pace is that the peaks are in different parts.

Yeah, basically, Bio-pace are at the wrong orientation, making them easier in the power stroke and knee wreckingly hard in the dead spot. You can rotate them by one bolt hole to get them closer to the correct orientation. I think cranks with a concealed bolt (behind the crank) get them closer.

I too use Eggrings for the inner and middle on my '94 S-Works FSR. Pricey, but I swear by 'em for technical climbing.
