My only answer to this 'put down' is, YES?


Does anyone else have any other come backs when such a plum thinks to call me something i obviously am?

Last time I was out riding the singletrack round Holmbury I got chatting to a couple of lady MTB instructors. One of them had a lovely 853 Cotic I was drooling over, she had a look at my bike, "wow you've got gumwall tyres, thumb shifters and cantis, is that a Middleburn granny ring? YOU'RE A BIKE GEEK AREN'T YOU!"

Bike geek, that's the worst insult I've had.

I was going to say the same thing, apart from the story with the ladies obviously. I'm normally referred to as the 'bike geek'.

I'm not really a bike snob as I'm happy to see people riding anything. More bikes and less cars has to be a good thing, no matter what the bikes are.

Wouldn't catch me riding less than XTR though obviously
