GT Borrego

Just finished my GT Borrego build.
Picked up the bike itself from @ceo and some other pieces from @ishaw
As far as I'm aware it's a 1996 model. It came with the Deore LX group in its entirety plus some pieces.
The plan originally was a pub bike but once the build began it changed into a MTB build.
I swapped out some bits to include ;
Chris King headset
Azonic bars
NOS Azonic stem
NOS Mavic 717 rims built on Hope RS4 hubs in smoke colour
San Marco Concor saddle
Ritchey seatpost
Ritchey foam grips
Panaracer Smoke and Dart tyres
Hope seatclamp in smoke colour

Then just stripped , cleaned and went over any scratches with a paint pen without being too obvious.
The bike is super nice , light and just nice overall.
Hope the GT fans like it.

It's a lovely build and I love the way the stem matches the frame colours! Those Concor saddles are great too. I have one on my Kuwahara.

Thread 'Help please - Steel GT serial numbers'

I'm interested in the serial numbers of the steel GTs - especially pre-94, but any pre-98 are interesting.

Would anyone who has one and is willing to share it send me it? If you don't want to post it in the thread you can PM me it and it won't go anywhere other than on my (offline) spreadsheet.

I probably want to stick to steel though - titanium is covered elsewhere (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=40095), as is Zaskars and including other aluminium frames is a bit too broad.
