Good MTB routes in North Kent/Surrey

Just wondering if anyone could recommend good mtb circuits of about 20 miles in length (i.e., a one day ride for my celery stick legs) within a couple of hours drive from South East London (Lewisham). I've done Bewl Water a few times which is good but quite sedate and now want to get a bit more adventurous!

Many thanks

Adam

Get in touch with the Adiscombe club, they're localish to you. They're mainly road based but it's a huge club with an active MTB section, they're very welcoming and don't mind you just turning up a few times before you decide whether to join or not.

I used to ride on their Saturday road ride where we'd regularly get 50+ riders out on a club run, I recall a 90 rider ride!!! Great for slowing down the traffic on the A23.

Cheers.

Sylvain is one of the Addiscombe rider . they go from Croydon .

I am near swanley , direct on the train from lewisham , I can show you some riding near Bexley and swanley , not hard , but lots of twisty singletrackls . can easily do 2 hours or more of riding .

Surrey hills are the best though for a whole day riding .

Box Hill & leith Hill areas are two excellent routes in Surrey

Leith Hill/ Pitch Hill for mtbers, Box Hill for roadies.
If you turn up at Box Hill cafe on a mountain bike , they look at you dead funny! :x
Turn up at Leith Hill cafe on a road bike, and you'll get a round of applause! :P
