It fits, the top & bottom adapter are tall, add in top & bottom headset... it ends up being 7”. The Judy xl doesn’t have 7” to give between the top & bottom (mine doesn’t)

No, you don't need the adapters. TBH, I didn't realise you were going to use the Judy and thought you'd be using a modern longer travel fork.

I just don't see that you'll gain much here except a lighter wallet.
