Here is my 2007 Avalanche Expert. A technicolour mix of......

.......well, black and grey!

Black forks, hubs, chainset, seat post, rims, saddle.....

I have replaced the stem and handlebar with some old school stuff I had knocking around, but yes the original ones were black also.

Its not a cheap bike, original list price was around £800, but as Jez says, to the untrained eye it looks identical to a £100 Halfords special :(

Incidentally my modern bike (Epic - full xtr and Pace forks) is...

ALL Pewter grey and black....

(with one purple quick release on the front!)

Gold Hope finishing kit has helped my otherwise black modern ride look a bit less 'Halfords'.

It possibly does look cheap, but i don't mind that too much as perhaps that means i'm less bothered about it getting damaged through use!

My retro bikes are for looking at, hence they don't get abused like my modern does.

black is what some people spray their nice bikes to make them look less nickable when in the city...
