End to End Build AND Ride

Re:

Odd was how it felt!

Unloaded its fine on average gradients in both directions, but not great going up or down fast ones.

Loaded up its much, much more sure footed. I had no trouble whatsoever on the Crow/Tak ma Doon Roads North of Glasgow... both of which are fairly steep and bendy.

Final rebuild yesterday:

Checked the wheels and put new tyres on. The back was just starting to show wear after 1000 miles of loaded training rides.

Swapped the 30t granny for a 28t... Just in case

Also put Ice-tech rotors and ceramic pads on, swapped the heavy stainless rack for an alloy one, changed the bar tape and set up a velcro attachment point on the bar bag mount so that I can put a Bluetooth speaker on for some entertainment in the lonely bits!

Re:

I've got 3 nights in Penzance and the plan for today was just to tick off Lands End and then do a bit of sightseeing.

It was a glorious sunny day so I ended up putting nearly 50 miles in my legs!

Looks beautiful, I love that area. Bike looks the part too.

I'm a big fan of most of the South coast, certainly the bits West of Southampton. I spent several years as a small person in your neck of the woods in the mid 70's... I went to Kings Park Primary school.

Re:

Kings Park is not too far from me at all. Even closer to my old flat (hence the BH5 in my username).

Looking forward to reading about your trip. Do you have a route and an idea of when and where?

Best of luck with it.
