Easter Baiku
Friday: Fill water bottle…select tunes for the CD player and hit ‘play’…start the stop watch…spin…into the big ring…turn up the volume…sweat…legs burn…no gain without pain…longest hour of my life
Sunday: Snow…lots of it…whirlwind of texts and forum postings…ride still on…carpark meet of old and new friends…play in the snow…fun…3 or so hours of riding and banter…back to ‘Chez Pickle’ for food…talk bikes and random stuff for an hour or so…flury of goodbyes and shaking of hands…best ride of the year so far
Monday: Water bottle and CD player ritual again…decide on a short hard one today…warm up…flick into the big ring and small sprocket…pain…legs scream…it’ll be worth it I say to myself….sweat lots…warm down now…hardest half hour of my life
