What I've done: Fill up a large jar with hot water and submerge one end of the bars so that the grip is under water. After a few minutes, take it out and twist while pulling. Keep repeating the process until you can remove the grip, and then repeat the process for the other grip.
Have not tried the hair dryer trick (I've not much hair to speak of
), but I imagine that might work faster.
Hair spray for installation, and it might make sense to first heat up the grip (one way or another) to ease the process. Don't stop halfway thru installation or you might have to remove and start over.
