No, I would have painted the Saracen black. The Yates will be in metallic purple .

There has been a change of plan to the Saracen .
My friend who brought the bike back for me, had this afternoon free, so very generously he has took it apart and rebuilt it for me and gave it a really good clean. He also used a beeswax cleaner on the frame and it's looking really good, the shine has been brought back and it looks nice as it is. It would be a shame to take away the original paint so I think I will leave it as it is .

That looks like a really cracking piece of kit mate although it does appear to be rather tall for me so just how big a frame is this beauty then ? ..

Okay so the old saracen will no longer be changing colour and the yates is going to be purple so i'll be keeping an eye on the future updates for the yates ..

Thanks chap. It's a 20", seems bigger I think as it's an e stay makes the angles look weird. It is big though.

Yeah! If I did paint the Saracen it would be keeping with the original colour.

I got the Saracen back today from my friend and rides really well, despite being too small for me.
Does anyone know where the frame no. is located for a 83/84 model? I've tried around the BB, dropouts, and seatclamp area.
I'll upload photos tomorrow.

hi i got a jet black saracen ruftrax 1996 mint condition got it a month ago all the original parts on it well happy with it as it was the first mountain bike i owend years ago glad i got one again lovelly bike

Received a new addition today, a lovely '89 Kili Flyer frame and forks, eager to start I chucked some bits on during my lunchtime. Probably going to go with original DX parts instead of the updated XT that I had laying around.

Few bits that I need to get for it, anyone know what the seat post size is for these?
