Drip drip drip goes the oil

its had a new sump, seals and clutch - I think somethings not sealed up properly.

Its Taxi test is on wednesday and I'm hoping they are OK about it. Its clearly been worked on as theres bloody brand new suspension at the front, steering, upper and lower arms all replaced plus CV gaitors.

If it's the rear main seal (which it sounds like) it's one thing to change it, but if it was caused by excess pressure (say crankcase ventiliation problems) then it could soon come back.

Do diesels have the same sort of PCV systems that petrol engines tend to have? Blockages in them tend to be the frequent causes of rear main seals blowing.

If there's any suitable for diesel engines, maybe try one of those oil leak additives that's supposed to help with seals Forte do one that I've read positive comments about, and I've read some good stuff about the regular, off-the-shelf Wynns one - worth a punt if you've already spent a lot on it.

just got me a renault megane scenic for a 1000...in the first 2 weeks.....front right vent jams so it clicks violently when turned on....fan breaks so when turned up past 3 it vibrates badly ....rear spare wheel well fills with water ...rubber gromet on the boot lid doesnt seal so when it rains it comes inside .....front passenger well fills with water cos apparantly it doesnt like being on the outside when it pees down...christ knows where that comes from but its annoying.....i hate it with all my passion..i wish i never needed a car ...they can all burn in hell for all i care.....good job i have a bike that works fine........uh oh...now ive talked it up.good luck on finding the source....

check all drainage holes are clear around the windscreen and boot areas.

My car passed its test with no advisories...

Good news on the MOT! You sorted the oil leak?
A drip off the sump could be many things, it may even be coming from the rocker cover gasket, down the back of the engine and dripping off the sump.

not fixed but at least I now have a year to fix it...

Gravity is your enemy diagnosing oil leaks.

Try inverting the car.

Someone inverted my wee plastic car on Saturday night, result I have oil leaks :roll:

i think my water ingress is because of the twin sunroofs...its wet up near the roof and door sill so im getting somewhere...
