feed back and payment sent buttons were clicked the moment I picked up the bike, his feed back openly shows that I have the bike!

That puts it in a different light. There is no way I would agree to cancel at that point, and I would be contacting Ebay.

PS nice bike - so his fee owed to ebay is over a hundred quid. People don't necessarily realise ebay fees are 10% as they are little obtuse in their advertising of fees, all people see if 40p to list and go for it....
