dodgy bidding: been outbid, you guys want the bike?

does this look suss to you? I'm bidder 2. This is an auction for a bike I'm interested in. The last auction fell through because, according to seller when I asked, "buyer wanted item posted" (It was a collection only auction. I only lost by £2 but wasn't offered 2nd chance). Now this bidder 5 looks like they are doing that thing where they put pids in at increments till you can tell when the highest bidder is near their max as the units it goes up by changes (keep with me...!).

Previous auction was not private either.

Does this look dodgy? Or am I being hypersensitive?

Difficult to say. I've actually bid like that before where I bid, and keep going a bit more over budget in increments to see how far I need to go...and then give up as it's going way beyond what I'm prepared to pay. Tends to be those scenarios for an "interesting item".
