First proper ride on this mornings commute, fits lovely, rides nicely, shifts perfectly, although I did manage to get the left shifter stuck up my shorts leg crossing the railtracks!
Only thing I've found is that after riding my gravel bike almost exclusively since lockdown, it feels way undergeared, and the tiny slimline brake hoods aren't as comfortable as big hydraulic brake hoods!
You could swap the stuck up the shorts bar end shifters for STI shifters. Likely they will have less slimline hoods, though you would need to replace the v brake noodles with "travel agents" which change the cable pull to allow v brakes with road sti's

Already got travel agents on, it's got drop bar v-brake compatible levers factory fitted, but I really wasn't impressed, so dropped a pair of travel agents on and they are now suberb 👌

You have probably already found pictures of mine from retrobike searching but here it is again. Things that worked really well with it were modern short reach / short drop bars, the tyres and the road sti's with travel agents. The learnings will roll into my next bike if Spa Cycles come up trumps with the frame they are trying to get in for me IMG_6621.webp
