Much though I absolutely love this bike, it isn't getting enough use, so I'm tentatively putting it on the market. Fillet brazed 853 throughout, including the rear stays, 1 1/8th headtube, 28.6 seat tube with 27.2 internal diameter.
Built in 2002 and optimised for a 100mm fork, V brake only. The only slight damage is a little ding under the downtube where the fork crown has swung around and hit - but it's very small - otherwise, structurally and cosmetically VGC. Dave Yates builds awesome bikes and his prices for an 853 build are currently over £1000!
It's still built and in one piece, I'll break it if anyone's seriously interested. Frame only at £300 or frame with the Fox Float and Race Face Thermo SP headset for £450. I'd really prefer it if it was collected from East Berks.

I need another bike like a hole in the head...but a Yates 853

Could you tell me the C to C of the top tube please.

Hi Neil; top tube is 22 1/4" as a centre to centre horizontal or 21 5/8ths actual. Seat tube is 17 1/2 centre to top. It fits me perfectly and I'm 5 foot nine. :D

All my bikes are around 17.5 to 18" and 22.25 to 22.5" in the top tube...and I'm 6'1"

I do tend to use 135mm stems though
