I can give them to you when it arrives at my house next Wednesday ;)

Think they are purple Salsa wheel QRs rather than Ringle, not massively important but thought I would point it out.

Good luck!

I would say that this is not a Rocky Mountain frame. RMs did have that angled top of the seat tube in 94 and 95, and the front part of it does resemble a 94 Equipe to some extent, but no RM at that time had that sort of dropout with a cut out in the triangle and the positioning of the cable stops differs.

Incidentally, RMs had wishbone seat stays from 1990 to 92, but not at other times.

My plan is to strip the paint back slowly to see if there are any clues underneath the top coat. It looks like it's been painted over, so hopefully the original paint will be underneath :)

Since it's been sold, compare this to a 1993 Altitude. iirc it's very similar. Sloping top of seattube
Correct colour clamp and the cranks iirc are also correct and correct colour.
Hole in the drop out (though eyelet for panniers ? might be added though. No idea if Shimano, but correct shape, correct style of joining and the only other choice they used on the high end was Ritchey, which would not have been used this model from it's look)
Hole in the bottom with the bung used (I think the Altitude had it)
Cable stop positioning and canti hanger correct I think.
Bulged top of seat tube I thinks correct style (no pics with me here)

Barney, when you strip it, look in the headtube for a serial number.

Wow  , thanks for the info :)

I'll be peeking inside the headtube as soon as I get it.... Where abouts in the range did the Altitude come? If it came with raceface clover leafs then I'd guess it must be fairly high up in the range...?

It's their top handbuilt steel frame

Though 1993 was not the best colour as standard in my opinion.
If it is one, I think you are well within your right to get a picture of the team frame for that year and spray it in the red/yellow team colour if you wanted.

They where not cheap in this country 9or any ($3000 retail, considerably more than a Kona Custom HOT, though Kona did skimp on the spec.)

A few people had them on here I think (al ?), some might still have them and one person raced the 1993 in it's team colours for er Rocky I think in the UK.

But it might not be one of course.

Frame will be some silly <4lb weight if it is.
