Cracked Rim

Would appreciate some 'expert' opinion and advice on what to my eyes appears to be a crack on the rim of my newly purchased Mavic Open S.U.P SBP rear wheel (yes, bought on eBay and described as 'technically and optically in perfect condition'). :(

Awaiting the seller's response but what do you guys think? Too risky to ride? Or maybe just superfluous damage to the finish on the rims? As these are welded I'm pretty sure it's not the join as in pinned rims, right?

Re:

Thanks for your quick response. I can feel the crack with my finger nail though? Also the odd groove is on both sides of the rim. This doesn't seem to be visible on any of the online examples that I've googled.

Heres some 'new' with visible joins:

Re:

Yup, the second pic you've posted matches mine but the 'join' doesn't look half as pronounced (hard to tell due the the resolution to be honest)

Re:

That's what I'm thinking and hoping but don't fancy my chances coming down the Llanberis Pass if it's an actual crack. Perhaps someone has a pair of these they could take a clear picture of just to compare?

Could be corrosion at the joint!

Peel the sticker back and look really closely, if you spot anything that looks like white powdery then its corrosion.

If you can get hold of an 'eye-spy' then have a really really close look.
