Alberto Contador has just signed for SaxoBank.

They now have Cancellara, the brothers Schleck and now Contador.

This seems strange, I suppose as multiple tour winner he will be top dog. So Andy Schlecks's reward for coming a close 2nd in the TdF is to be Alberto's domestique?

Am I not seeing something? Contador and Armstrong at Astana worked badly, and even Contador and Vinikourov had sparks coming off each other at times. I can't imagine Andy Schleck is happy with this at all.

Forgive my ignorance here as I dont know much about road racing.

Cancellera is a sprinter, but I thought he was tipped as a contender?

Is this incorrect because I dont think I saw a single mention of him during the TV coverage I saw on TV (3 days worth)?

What happened to that guy?

Cancellara is a TT specialist/classics rider rather than a sprinter. Won the prologue, did an excellent job of towing A. Schleck over the pave, got himself over the mountains and then won the final TT. He's just too big to climb mountains quickly so will never win a major tour, when you see him stood next to other cyclists he looks massive.

Saxobank are also pulling out and it could be Specialized taking over.
