Berluddy teenagers!

Anyone familiar with Alderney - one of my daughters is working there over the summer and is panicking about how much stuff she's gonna have to take over - as if there's no shops

I'm guessing all mod cons will be available on the island and she'll be able to buy all normal domestic goodies - such as bedding (which at the moment she's planning on taking with her  )

Large cargo boat on standby - which I don't want to pay for.

So, Alderney - what's there then ?

Alderney is one of the Channel Islands. Not a bad island that said there are daily ferry boats to Guernsey which is like a seaside resort but a big one so no problem there either with shops or shopping. I used to get all my stuff off guernsey then take it over. If it's a hotel summer season job most of those place provide linen but worth checking with the employer first

I lived on little sark for a while and regulary used the daily taxi boat to Guernsey

If she is flying direct to alderney it will likely be from southampton where she can shop before flying

I travel there for work twice a year, to service the only x-ray system on the island!
I love it there. It is tiny, but most things can be bought in the shops there.
Some lovely free-range produce there too :D

I'm not sure that's what Mr P wants to be hearing about somewhere his daughter is spending the summer :D

What is is that she's going over there to do? Tell her to go check out Fort Clonque.... http://www.landmarktrust.org.uk/Buildin ... rt_Clonque
Amazing place. I've been looking into booking it for a long weekend later this year.
