you cant take a cat for a walk and you look like a wierdo just going for a walk by yourself.

You can take a cat for a walk, and many people go for a walk with out a dog and they don't look weird, oh hang on, Rambelers walk with out a dog, OK they look weird.

Wrong, Turkish Van and Turkish angora cats will go for a swim and may even enjoy having a bath with there owners.

I muchly prefer cats as ive grown up with them, we currently have two and theyre both completely different in character but both loving and friendly, im not going to just rule out dogs purely because ive never had one, but in my experience from friends with dogs, you can tell a dog lives there as soon as you walk in the house, which isnt a pleasant smell imo.

I think having to wander round picking up dog eggs one of the most disgusting things in the world, we have allotment gardens behind my house and both my cats go in there, they will dig a hole and then bury their mess as they dont like leaving it on show (its a cat thing)

But then on the flip side you will never see a drugs cat, or a police cat, or indeed a guide cat for the blind, dogs are willing servants and are happy to be owned, cats have staff and must be obeyed, oh and if you want the best seat in the house, youre going to have to move the cat

Ferret!
Best of both worlds. Playful like a kitten that never grows up. Minimal exercise needed, enjoys human company like a dog.
Anothdr vote for ferret!! Havent got one, but would love one!! Shouldnt you be advocating the hamster as a choice of pet? Not you personally, but the little furry fellas 8)

Can't walk a hamster...I do occasionally walk the ferret

They love the smell of beer, and tend to head for the pub... 8)

Got to be a dog!

How can you say no to this...

Admittedly he grew but so loyal and I enjoy taking him out he's now nearly 10 months and will happily walk alongside me on my bike!

Here he is looking after my 18month old!

Fish.
Quiet, don't require walking, relatively self-cleaning, don't leave hair and sh!t everywhere, can be left over holidays, unlikely to attack children or other pets, no licence required, don't roam in neighbours gardens, don't leave dead animals in your shoes, no training required and delicious with fennel.

I have both, but I've gotta say I do prefer pussy.

much more maintenance-free. And they can clean themselves

And they dont eat the poo of other animals.

and they don't need hours of walks

and they're cheaper to run

and (in my experience) they don't give your house a pet smell..

And........... they're just so much bloody cooler.. 8)
