Dogs outrank cats- Ruswarp here is the definitive proof.
When out fellwalking with his master in winter his master died and Ruswarp guarded his dead body for 11 weeks until rescue came. He lived off moss and things but became too weak to walk. He was able to attend his master's funeral before dying. Would a cat have shown loyalty like that? No it'd have licked it's bottom and then Foxtrot Oscared and gone to hunt Curlews or something!
But that's not all. Ruswarp helped save our railway line from closure. As he was a season ticket holder [In those dark days they must have charged dogs for travelling by train just like they used to charge £2 for bikes] he was legally entitled to append his paw print to the petition demanding that the line stay open, which it has and that is how Ruswarps statue- paid for by local people and railway users- is on the platform at Garsdale Head.
Not a cat in sight.
