Cat or dog ?

Given recent conversations on here regards fluffy fangs claws and fur and excrement creators, what does the majority prefer, cats or dogs ?

Cat
Easy to look after. No getting up at god awful hours to walk around the park
I used to pass a main park on the way to work each morning at about 7am.I remember passing lots of early walkers and they all shared the same look
Not happy to be there on a cold morning
also difficult[with exceptions obviously]to take the dog with you on a ride.

cats for sure, sure they can be little dictators... and manufacture smelly poo

but dogs are stupid, slobbery, smelly attention seekers.

only worse thing that dogs is their owners

(gross stereotype there)

Dogs. Mans best friend, don't forget that. Instant home security, have psychic ability to detect visitors before they even knock at the door and then alert you to the fact, chase cats for a living (also chase sticks), make an excellent headrest for drunks
I used to have a dog, now I have a missus  what I mean is that she likes cats, so we have a cat.... I never can trust that damn shifty eyed feline :?

''So, my mate walks in and sees my dog licking its balls on the sofa, mate says 'wish I could do that' - I say 'sure, I dont think he'll mind if you ask him nicely' ''

If you get a cat, dont get a cat flap otherwise its cat parties and cat hotel time.

Get them 'done' as soon as possible too otherwise you'll smell like you live in a Glastonbury toilet.

Hoover regularly too and make sure carpets are treated with anti flea 'stuff' - our local council does this much cheaper than the private companies and we and our cats have remained flea free for about 4 - 5 years since it was done.

If you dont, you'll get fleas and flee bites - fact. Other cats will pass them on to yours and they spread pretty quickly.

Vet insurance is tricky - ours were from a very healthy mother who in turn came from a very healthy line. We were lucky, they were immunized early on and they havent cost us too much over the years except for a genetic teeth problem of them rotting, causing them distress.

Collars with bells! The local bird population will suffer without them!

They will rule your house and you will bow down unto them for they are our Overlords - they must be honoured with food at least twice a day...

Another vote for cats from me - never had a near miss with a cat whilst out on the bike (although I suspect my near misses involving dogs were often the dog-owner's fault, not the pet's fault). Also, my parents had a cat for 17 years who never failed to keep us entertained and really did seem like one of the family.

And the final word on cat/dog rivalry:
