Carlton Corsas from 1968-75

I have three of this model, my oldest c1968-72 has a 21" frame and is finished in polychromatic mauve. My otehr two date from 1975 and are finished in a very fetching polychromatic green, they have 22 and 23" frames respectively.

All are pretty much standard, the two green models running 5-speed with different rear blocks (22 and 24 tooth affairs), the 22" has a Campag Nuovo Record rear mech and the 23" sports a Miller dyno. All very retro and right up my street. The 68 model is a 10-speed and uses a 1985 Ofmega rear mech.

Ill post some more pics and specs if peeps can put up with all this Carlton stuff!

Ive managed to dig out a few more recent images of my two green Corsas. Hope you like them!

23" version details, showing my faithful Miller dyno. Mudgaurds are Bluemels Classique which I bought from new and used to be on my Continental.

A great bike for the flat (ish) parts of Plymouth, the 5-speed transmission uses a 21-tooth rear sprocket, so gearing is a bit high!

The 22" model, this shows the Campagnolo rear mech I fitted. It works reasonably smoothly and looks good. A friend of mine who was the Technical advisor to the Tandem club of Great Britain (or similar!!!) was having a clear out and gave me a load of old mechs, one of them was a Campag Rally - a dreadful long cage touring affair, I tried it out and quickly realised why the things were damed so much. It soon came off!!

The machine has recently had new alloy wheels and QR hubs fitted

Superb! Nice to see a Huret Jubilee mech on there.

I remember exactly what I was doing in 1966 when Geoff Hurst scored the winning 'they think it's all over' World Cup goal. I was listening to the commentary on the radio and drooling over a Carlton catalogue!

Its a Svelto 2000, Id like to have the Jubilee!

I think that's a Nuovo Gran Sport rear mech not Nuovo Record.
