You are limited with what you can do with them. For example, you can't put both hard drives in one of them. There isn't enough space. Similarly, I think the RAM is soldered onto the motherboard.

You could use one of the hard drives as an external one - either by taking it out and putting it into a separate case or via target disk mode:

Finally, some applications - rare ones like some 3D applications - allow you to use the processing power of computers in a network collectively.

Yeah, they dont like to make it easy

'14 models onwards have the ram fixed, some before that are changeable. Same with other hardware. There are plenty of sites online that list which models/years have swapable parts. Also the systems can share workloads, it doesnt double the power of a machine.

I'm from a time when a pocket calculator was advanced and having used one since 1999 i see computers as all salesman hype and very over rated.
