Great bit of kit. Although long travel, I think its a long travel XC bike. Very stable and confidence inspiring. Weight is respectable too. If you put the shock (mines the RP23) on to Propedal mode it climbs very well.
Oh and its turq
only negatives, i've seen 2 with cracked swinglinks. both of these were being used as full on DH bikes with 16st plus riders who cant land for sh,t. nasher broke a carbon flex pivot. hes the only person i know whos broken 1. i know a fair few people with 575s (I led the yetitribe XC rides a few weeks ago) & problems are mega rare.
575 is yetis best selling bike for good reason. pro-pedal shock on the 3 setting is like a hardtail till you hit a bump (its actually too hard for me, I ride pro-pedal in the 2 setting)
stu kinger from bromley bike does loads of demo days. get in touch with him if you want a test ride
Quite fancy a 575 as a change from the ASR.
May keep my eyes open for one.
I had the shock pushed at TF (needed service anyhow) and asked them to up the range on the PP. Used to run on 2, and found small diff on 1/3. Hell if I have to reach down to change something I want to feel a difference! Now its pretty firm but still bouncy, normal, and super plush
i think the propedal makes less of a difference on the 575 & ASR than it does on pure single pivot bikes as the swing link does affect the rate of the shock slightly. ie the asr espically always pedaled well even with a stock float shock.
on a pure single pivot bike like hecklar, orange5 & patriot the difference between propedal on & off couldnt be more pronounced!
stu kinger tells me the yeti7 should be landing soon & I cant wait to try that sucka
Si, I would still go for a 4 bar linkage bike, the suss is much more active in absorbing bumps, as Scant rightly said, you need pro pedal on the single pivot variants, which can then make the rear end "hard", not what you want in what your looking to achieve, so to speak.
