For Sale C4 Marte 1994 with FIR three spoked carbon wheels

Up for sale is this lovely piece of sculpted bike art.

The brainchild of Nicoletta and Marco Bonfanti who founded C4. A winning combination between freedom and innovation, C4 has pursued its technical, functional and design oriented vision, defining new guidelines for the technical skills of its products.

Bicycle frames and forks were metal tubing structures. After seven years of testing and failures, Marco Bonfanti designs and creates AERO, a one piece carbon frame and fork structure. Perfect for time trials, with no seat tube, it can be purchased in three different sizes and its seat angle is adjustable. The fork has a divergent wing section to minimize air resistance. This innovative carbon molding process, known as NJC ( No Joint Construction ) allows hollow and seamless composite complex structures to be easily manufactured. Tubular section structures with internal reinforcement brace are available as well. NJC system will be at the basis of the creation of C4 future products. In 1990 they started manufacturing the Luna, a monocoque without the seat tube and in 1993 the Marte is unveiled and commencing production in 1994, this specific fra for sale is made medio 1994.

The frame utilises the No Joint Construction technique aka Monocoque. It has curvy shapes and an elevated chainstay and was to be made in one size only 18".

The fork is also a moncoque construction with the steel steerer bonded in the shoulders of the fork and is a piece of marvel itself. The threaded steerer is cut precisely to accomodate an M900 or 730 headset and does not allow for any spacers to be installed.

Together with the frameset is a pair of FIR carbonfibre monocoque three spoked wheels, this combo was presented at the 1994 bike fair in Milan and is only sold together.

The package shows minor signs of use, mostly storage marks and all decals are in near mint condition as they are under clearcoat. The bottom bracket is a standard Shimano Italian thread and goes along with the frame, I didn´t bothered removing it but it can be done if a buyer wish so.

My plan with this bike was to build it up with an all black Shimano and cockpit package, this can be included in sale at an additional cost and will not currently be sold at the side.

Included in the package is:

1. Fillet brazed handlebar/stem combo with 15 degree rise, painted to match and NOS.
2. M730 cassettes 12-28.
3. M730 brifters NOS
4. Geax tires, white and gently used.

2. M730 black levers NIB
3. M730 black brifters NIB
4. M730 black cranks with original black Shimano chainrings and black Shimano chainring bolts. All in a very good condition.

6. M730 black brakes with black hangers in a very good condition.
7. M730 black headset.
8. HG70 Uniglide chain, NIB.
