Some quality angle grinder engineering there! I got a small wire brush about 1 1/2" dia - looks like the chimney sweep brush type - & gave threads a thorough whizz over & it removed some more corrosion.
When you put it back together some copperslip or aluslip anti seize might be a good idea. Good luck with it.
