BEWARE: eBay Email Spoof

Just thought I'd give y'all a Heads Up on a Spoof eBay Email I just received. The message is titled "Message from eBay member sigutech" [although that name may change of course] asking me to check that I had received payment for an item he/she had won.

Fortunately I have neither sold anything recently through eBay, nor do I sign in to eBay via a Browser [but rather use the App on my iPhone] so checked my account via the App for any messages received; Nada.

The links on the email all point to a phoney eBay Webpage which will ask you [of course] to log in to your eBay Account.. So, [apologies for the use of Capitals Letters..] DO NOT CLICK ON THESE LINKS AND SIGN INTO YOUR EBAY ACCOUNT:!:

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - there's a completely foolproof way of never getting caught by scam emails.

If you do actually read them, and they seem in any way to be apposite, then login to whatever system it is (ebay, paypal, online banking, whatever...) through your normal links.

NEVER login to any system following a link from an email like this - and you'll never get scammed by email. Always use your normal method of logging in, and at least you'll not get ripped off by emails.

...another useful security measure is to disable the preview pane so that e-mails don't open as soon as you highlight them. That way you can delete them without opening them if you are at all suspicious of their content...

I know it may seem an obvious scam, but there's always that time you let your guard down due to tiredness/fatigue/stress etc.
