August's MBR £100 challange - silly or a dig at 'retro'?

Would that be the same MBR that insisted that 4" of travel and 27 speeds were necessary to be able to race XC, and then were very loathe to talk after Mountain Mayhem when my friends and I beat them by a whole lap using rigid singlespeeds?

Next year you should beat them on £100 retro specials :D

Good idea, so who are the fit guys with these :

1993 Stumpjumper

1996 Lavadome

1997 Pro-Flex 857

2011 Decathlon

Bikes? And a copy of the article to show at Mayhem.
I have a '93 Stumpy, I should train and stick it to 'em next year.

And on Top Gear they have more fun, lots of laughs and usually end up loving there old cars on the retro challenges.

Just the sound of such elements of sophistication whooshing over their heads.

Sadly they just see themselves the propaganda department for the bike industry.

2011 bike guide "Hardtails are only suitable for towpath riding or in town"

Makes you wonder how people managed to walk so fast down all those XC and DH courses until 1994-ish.

Jerks.

But you forgot, 160mm at both end of your bike is absolutely de riguer when going to trail centres.
