Did you find it a useful technique?

Did you find it a useful technique?
Oh definitely!
With the time it takes soaking the backing paper on the frame it takes 5 times longer but that's more than worth it for bubble-free, accurate placement. I still have the forks to do...ill be doing them wet šŸ˜

BTW, how long before you can start juggling the frame around? I still have some final paint cutting to do but I'm weary of handling the frame and disturbing the freshly applied decals.

Hard to tell, but then if you do accidentally move something you can just start again & re-apply it.

Hey guys,

I tried yesterday this method of applying decals with some I had from Gill and unfortunately it didn't work.

Good think was though that I didn't "lose" any of my decals in the process.

This might be because Gill's decals are of a different type than the one used in the video.

Anyhow, the best way I found was to use marking tape and a ruller and work with markings on the decals and the marking tape itself to align them correctly. It takes time but it works just fine.

Oddā€¦ Iā€™ve only ever used Gil. When you say it didnā€™t work, what do you mean exactly?

So basically even though I had the decals prepared by wetting them and so I did with the frame (just like in the video) the decals stuck firmly on the frame and couldnā€™t reposition them. Donā€™t know what les to this but I noticed that in mine the front of the decals had the paper cover and the back the plastic oneā€¦
