Anyone 'reflowed' a PS3?

He had backed everything up earlier....

So it's done! And I had no bits left over or anything :0)

The hardest part was putting the new heat sink paste on the square bits.... Getting it the right thickness....... But the rest was surprisingly easy! I just got half a dozen bowls out of the cupboard and put all the relevant bits together....... And it is working a treat right now!

See how long it lasts..... :0)

I'm sure he had a bit of of a go for testing purposes last night......

He will definately give it a bit of a bash today..........the amount of dust and crap in there was unreal!! I would definately suggest getting a can of that air stuff and give it all a good blast........

It will probably only be a temporary fix, but I know how to do it now and it saved me £60 as that was what some companies were charging(plus postage), fo the same thing that I did for a tenner......

I might offer my services for local PS3 scrotes!!

I just said screw it, went and got a 320gb slimline with the tv thing...

so far so good... 8)

been on MW1 and 2 all afternoon :)

Well, the boys ps3 is still going strong with no signs of the fault..... Touch wood!!!
I'm now fixing my daughters boyfriends one....!
