We at York Cycleworks are thinking of reviving the world famous "BOLTBY BASH"

What does everybody think? Great old event, mid-summer, maybe a Retro-bike meet / Tent?

Anybody have any thoughts or ideas?

Post'em here

I remember the name indeed from the old mags..............a revival would be a good excuse to have a Northern Retrobike Rondiesvows- nice an North Yorkie for me!!

And York Cycleworks!!- ye sold me my first ever Proflex, ye did!!

More a Viking Chase kind of guy :)

Found my Boltby bash 2 and 5 T'shirts the other day, sadly the trails in Boltby are not as good as they used to be

Cycleworks, they sold me my second real mountainbike, think it was "John's" big old black Cannondale, replaced my original Muddy fox courier ~ those were the days :)

Road it a couple of times for Leeds Students Alternative Cyclists soemthing or other / Stif. Fantastic

I did a google search for 'Boltby Bash' and this came up. Old thread, so...

Mr York Cycleworks, what happened?

What i remember most about Boltby Bash 2 was the lakes of water we were wading through at times....a pretty wet weekend to say the least!!
Still got some photos somewhere....with a nice one of Caroline Alexander leaning over my bike to look at the stage map....in her early Raleigh days :D

A Boltby revival would be ace! 8)

Thought I'd upload the BB2 review from MBI -

If anyone knows the routes, we could see if Vern/ChrisV40 can fit it in the rides calendar for the area ? (maybe replace Howardian as they'll be crap in November, they're muddy enough in the Summer )
I'm assuming you mean near Thirsk (south west of the moors ?)
