Anybody remember THE BOLTBY BASH ?

I'm sure we can fit it in somewhere this summer.

As Ben said if anyone knows the trails and they are still worth riding let me know and we will get something arranged.

cripes! I remember that! think I only went to one though, but the mists of time, beer and smoke have got the better of my memory

wonder if the trails are still rideable? or maybe they're like "The Trails That Time Forgot"

My Dad actually ran the Bash (Neil) and I am sure he would love to be involved in re-tracing the route (although knowing the work involved in sorting out the boggy sections of trail I fear some by now mat be impassable!). Unfortunately Martin (the other guy responsible for the Bash passed away this year whilst out on his bike) so I think it would be great to do something like a Bash revival in his memory. Thoughts?

I rode this ... Not sure which year, but it was a bloody heat wave, hot as hell!
Be great to ride it again, though not sure I'd like to do it on my old Giant Track (still have it!).
The race format was great.

Re:

Don't think I did the first one but certainly did the following 3

Should remember the route but they have done a lot of felling around those areas over the last few years so not sure how much I will remember or will be ride able, was some wet areas as well from memory

Think the highlight for me was following Caroline Alexander up that grassy climb on my pink and black Klein Rascal

Re:

God, the terrifying "Cracow Slack"

The long forest road downhill with a tight turn at the bottom...

We were "Extreme" back then

I remember very clearly marshalling the corner at the bottom, the year that the forestry commission "re-surfaced" the corner. I would say every 10th person went straight on into the trees. There were a few broken collar bones that year.
