Model is a lanza opti SL150, not the most expensive but has been doing a sterling job all this time.

I suspect its a cap or such like, but I'm not keen on getting into it myself.

do check all power and earth connections - that can blow fuses if they're not nipped up tight. I'd agree taht a short would blow fuses too.
