Any love for the old Carrera’s here?

Had a Carrera STX with Shockwave suspension in my Uni days. Working at Halfords an assistant manager helped me scour the Halfords store catalogue for one that wound up less than half price after sale discounts and staff discounts. Loved that bike. My first proper mountain bike. Blinged it up with an IG 70 7 speed cassette from Edinburgh Bike Co-op and an STX Special Edition chainset off a stock bike, hmmm donated it's chromica crank arms to my chromica chain rings so I had an all chromica STX chainset. The eh, donation bike got the all silver STX stuff. Ah those heady days, Tioga Alchemy headset and stem, Onza barends, Vuelta saddle and toe clips.

SHE WERE A THING O' BEAUTY!!!

Then some junkie scumbag boyfriend of a flat mate nicked it. D1CK!

Looked something like this, but mine was betterer! PS If anyone knows of one for sale (Except the eBay one) I could be interested.

IMO Too expensive for what it is and it needs the original fork. At £234.70 it'd cost more than I paid for the one I originally owned. As it is I'd consider it for £150 max, but then it's also at the wrong end of the country and no postage offered. Why do you ask? Are you the seller?

There aren't many Carreras in Canada, but I found this one for next to nothing locally. Hardly vintage, I know. Original owner was from the UK and had shipped it over when he moved here. I bought it entirely for the beautiful set of Hope M4's on it (set up with the rear lever on the left). I swapped them out for cheap SRAMs, fixed a few things, and sold the bike to a (very tall) friend for slightly less than the next to nothing I paid for it.

Those Hopes now live on my M1 :)
