Any idea’s what this is?

lugs -

both Brampton Bros. & NERVEX offered this nozzle cut
it was fairly commonly seen during the interwar period

made by other producers as well

NERVEX offered three patterns of feature cut with this horizontal slot but none are a match for what the cycle wears

head parts -

appear Brampton Bros.

locknut is part Nr. 925 104 or 925 109, depending on thread

adjustable race is part Nr. 915 001, or 915 020, or 915 021, or 915 600
depending upon thread and ball size

head parts offered in three finishes: chrome, nickel, black enamel

dropouts -

distinctive crescent cutout
thought might be Brampton but not shown in my materials

another reader likely to recognise them straightaway

A closer inspection this evening shows that the front hub is Brampton, rear hub says 'H R Pattern'
Front Centre pull brakes are by Phillips
Rear Cantilever is GB Sport Mk II - but is fitted by a bracket that screes down through the the brace which is odd and almost certainly a later addition
Rear freewheel is Villers de Lux
Quite a lot of Phillips 'linked' parts.

So, I'll be looking through old photos of Phillips this evening 😄

shell is interesting in that it exhibits sockets for downtube & seat tube but none for chainstays

wonder if backside made smooth or if it has plugs for chainstays

checked my Brampton materials and no shells of this patern are shown

pedals appear to be Phillips Apollo

Can confirm no sockets for chain stays on the shell... which, I've not seen before...

Bit of an update on this.

I have spent 'a number' of hours searching through 1000's of photos generated by online searches to try an find a match for this bike. I have not found a single match for the head tube lugs and fork crown 😞

Until today. 😄 When I found this on a Path Racer Group over lunch... I almost choked on an olive!

The forks are slightly different on the side, but are the same shape and have the same biplane/truss style crown, they are far more similar than anything else I've found.

The head tube lugs match my bike as do those on the other frame joints.
It also does not have 'sleeves' on the BB shell for the Chainstays like my bike
and it has the same half moon cutout and shape on the rear dropouts as mine does

So what is it? Well the bike above is a 1911 Radior Route Legere.

Obviously pretty much all of the components on mine are different, but the brakes are poorly fitted. If mine is one of these, and is significantly older, it may well have been rebuilt in the 30's or 40's with parts available at the time.... the thick plottens!!

Waddayathink??

But I think whatever yours is it’s earlier than these catalogues because of the frame angles and the gallows type seat post.

My initial thought too closer to 1920 or so, but I don't know what it is. Suspect many parts are not original.
