Bought this on ebay

Smooth welds and it is aluminium. Cheap and it came from france. Unknown as to what it is.

Wyatt polishing in thetford did this.




Steve barry at acorn plating has anodised in purple.




I have a varity of parts to dress it in. A mix of modern and retro. I need more purple parts. Just realised i could have the kalloy uno stem anodised purple along with the campag chainring bolts (record carbon chainset with fynrelite rings bought of here) and the ebay skewers. Steves has got work to do he does not know it yet.

That's gorgeous. Can you be sure it will all match? I'd go silver for everything.
I tried similar with red. The colour variation is amazing and frustrating when you get everything next to each other so I gave up. Looking forward to seeing how you get on.

The problem is my parts bin has a record 10 speed carbon chainset with carbon rings, the bar are black carbon fibre (cinelli Neos) the seat post is a woodman carbon fibre effort the saddle is a really cheap chinese Hylix effort. The only silver bits are the campag front mech and the Mavic 860 rear mech. Even the brake levers are Campagnolo Record carbon (brake levers only) and the D/T shifters are Modolo carbon (NOS). so given the lack of silver parts I will go with more purple. Also the wheels are black with purple nipples they have been hanging up for a good long while and need to be used. It will be very light though sub 7kg.

the point of this is to build the lightest bike I can without spending too much using up the parts in the parts bin well some of them anyway.
