Retro Guru
Was lucky enough to be given this old A*s frame, but I've been sitting wondering what to do with it. It's a bit rough, doesn't have the right forks and as it's the colour I've always lusted after, I've finally decided to do a (shh look away) parts bin and retro modern build, keeping the paint as it is.
Just keen to ride it, so I'm going for non period correct, but so far the box has revealed a few beauties.
Original purple annodised Alpine Stars seat post, ti flite, some off road proflex 4130 forks and an xt 1 1/4 headset. Plus the orange stalk.
Am thinking 9 speed x 3 with a choice of beautiful xt chain set, or functional octalink. It will have V brakes as it's going to be a regular rider and have scored some functional tan walls (not the ones in the pic)
