hmmm. if it is a new can - it could also be temperature... as it gets colder the pressure inside the can drops. One trick is to put the can in a bucket of warmish (not hot!) water (about 25C for 30 mins) before spraying. As.a new can it could also be a production fault...rare, but I've had a couple over the years.
I might have to try that later, need to pick another can of paint first, lol
Though from what I have seen the paint does dry nice and shiny, I am using Simoniz Gloss black, it's just got a lot of drips and over spray atm.
I'll try the warm water tip next. Expect another update soon. ;)
 
So I'm not sure where you are based - but I am guess temp is around 12C. - 14C? This is a bit cold for spraying without a warmed can or parts. I have done it though! Warm the can as I mentioned (keep the can upright and try not to submerge the nozzle area.) ..but also warm the forks - keep them inside till the last moment or a quick blast with a hairdryer. If the forks are cold there is a risk that the paint will condense and you can get the orange peel effect - multiple thin coats. Drips suggest that you might be placing heavier coats on.

Simoniz are good, I have used it, but typically for components and smaller parts.

Still waiting for an opportunity to repaint the forks...
The first two attempts weren't great, so hopefully the third time will be better.
It is sunny but cold outside...
so get a bucket of warm water to sit the spray paint can in.

our young cat Tobi is curious and wants to have a sniff.
