I’m not a boutique brand kind of person. Had Paul’s and proshift in the past and always sold it on.

I think it’s down to the fact I never saw any back in the day but did see XTR everywhere

Black Ops came later. The 98 catalogue shows Arch supremes and Tri-Align 3s as the high end options.
I've seen the Tri-Aligns in black. Not often though.

Made a start on actually assembling these two. Mainly to find a direction , work out what I need and also actually make some progress.

The 97 is going to be mainly silver parts - M739 , middleburn , SID and likely some X517 wheels or Crossmax.






The 98 is going with black parts as much as possible. Brakes may end up being changed to XTR. Wheels will be Crossmax and it’s likely going to be m950.

I’ve decided to go with a 98 Z2 in this striking metallic red colour to complement the green sparkle in the frame. Thomson stem and post , and hopefully some black Raceface when I get some.

I can’t lie that pressing the CK into this frame made me very nervous even with a slight mod to it.

Both of those colours are difficult to choose a form for. I think I’d be going a Pace or something black/carbon/silver on both

Pace on a Kona? Noooooo…..

Fair enough mate, enjoy and build them as you want. They are both very special!!!!

I do like a contrasting frame and fork. They both look bang on to me.
